</> ive realised why im terrible at tests. it requires you to act as if its a constant. but life is very abrupt, surreptitious, and fundamentally, unpredictable. so the issue with standardized tests for me, sat, act, lsat .. etc. . was the fact that they were expecting people to study for a year for this test .. like a gaokao .. and then move on, but actually your mind and body will adapt to the way in which your daily habits make you accustomed to. so actually, the test is a trick to exchange your time for a number. it is a form of slavery if you really think about it. thats why people pay people to take the test, tutor, etc .. it all dulls the pain, the pain of now wanting to learn or do whatever they want you to learn or do. because it is predicated upon a false predisposition that the knowledge is useful for the endeavor or career. but the main point is that the knowledge is requisite for a good career but once again, not sufficient. like the skills of basic competency are fine. but if you are attempting to get to a .1% then it is nonsensical because they are microdistinctions - 1, 2, 3, 4 answers gotten right .. which create massive differentials and stratification .. like a bell curve .. the type you see in law school .. but this curve is artificial because it doesnt consider the fact that everyone had to participate and fulfill the basic requirements of taking the test. so what i learnt at law school after getting a 142 on the lsat is that i ended up taking 6 classes with three and a half hour long exams each. even though i used chatgpt in all of them (breaking the rules), the real test i realized was not studying, or getting an a grade (because this can be subjectivized due to its astronomical inflation in abstraction - thats why top tier law schools dont give grades) IS showing up to take the test and writing for four hours. thats the real test. if you study yourself to death, you fail. if you wire yourself to be a slave, you fail. if you get the highest grade you legitimize the system. there is no real win apart from showing up objectively and doing the thing. anything else, is just a distraction .. or abstraction ..
